This month Alisha was promoted from Vice President to President of the #98 Phoenix Chapter of The National Association of Women in Construction, NAWIC. The focus of this group is promoting the construction industry and giving back. NAWIC accomplishes this through educational events, networking functions, and volunteer opportunities in the Phoenix metropolitan area. NAWIC meets monthly to discuss topics that include volunteering with the local community, ways to promote personal and career development for members, and sponsorship and education opportunities for youth interested in careers in construction.

“We’re working with local schools and youth to make construction and the trades exciting again,” said Oliver.

In her new role, Alisha will work with the officers and the board to coordinate strategic planning, schedule presentations from industry experts, community philanthropic efforts, highlight businesses and network with group members, and more. She has also set her sights on growing the Phoenix Chapter memberships by 23% by attracting more like-minded construction professionals to join this cause.

Having attended the NAWIC Annual Conference last month, Oliver gave a huge thanks to Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC for the continued support of her involvement with NAWIC!
