City of Tempe JOC Award

Sunland Asphalt & Construction, Inc. (Sunland) was one of the contractors selected for the City of Tempe Paving and Resurfacing of Streets and City Facilities Job Order Contract (JOC).

Services for this JOC may include and are not limited to subgrade preparation, milling, paving, overlays as well as pavement preservation scopes like asphalt repairs, crack sealing, sealcoating, chip seal, slurry seals, microsurfacing and other types of rejuvenation methods.  This JOC may also include removal and replacement of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and ADA ramps, scuppers, catch basins and valley gutters associated with the pavement removal and replacement work.  The work will be performed as a series of individual Job Orders as defined by the City of Tempe.

This JOC will have a one (1) year duration, with an option to renew for up to four (4) years, for a maximum of five (5) years total.  The maximum annual contract amount of $5 million will be established for the first contract period.  Sunland has held JOC contracts with the City of Tempe since 2008 and has completed over $15 million worth of work.

Nearly 40% of Sunland’s work is executed in the JOC delivery method.  In the last five years, Sunland has completed more than 600 JOC projects totaling $125 million.  We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the City of Tempe!  Congratulations to the Sunland team!
