Sunland was honored at this year’s Roads and Streets Conference at the El Conquistador in Tucson, Arizona. Our team accepted a 2021 Arizona Transportation Partnering Excellence Award for the Fairway Drive TI project.

This project consisted of an interchange allowing the traveling public to connect to and from the I-10 via the new on-and-off- ramps, a new arterial street along the I-10, as well as street lighting, landscaping, striping, signage, landscape irrigation, and electrical conduit. The Fairway TI project provides the citizens of Avondale and the West Valley with direct access to one of Avondale’s key logistics and manufacturing corridors. Additionally, this project provides a more direct route to the Avondale Commerce Center and relieves the congestion off the exits for Dysart Road and Avondale Boulevard.

Congratulations to the team who contributed to the successful partnering of this project, including the Arizona Department of Transportation, the City of Avondale, Steel Girder LLC dba Stiner Bridge & Iron, McNeil Brothers, Inc., and Sunland Asphalt & Construction.
