Sunland is the proud recipient of the National Asphalt Pavement Association’s (NAPA) 2020 Award. The NAPA Program recognizes those in the asphalt pavement industry who have achieved excellence. Sunland was selected for this award for work on the Holbrook Municipal Airport Reconstruction Runway. This airport reconstruction started at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and several unknowns existed throughout the construction project. Some potential challenges included construction employees’ essential status, supply chain production levels, and field staff safety. Despite all the unknowns, Sunland aggressively planned the work and then proceeded to work the plan successfully.

To give back to the community and celebrate the successful completion of the runway reconstruction, Sunland partnered with a local charitable non-profit organization, Wings of Faith (W.O.F.), and the Arizona Cardinals to supply over 15,000 lbs. of donations and over $6,000 in funds directly to W.O.F. and their cause.
