Matt Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer of Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC, bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction industry to his leadership role. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction and has built a career managing projects of all sizes for agencies and municipalities. Matt specializes in the Job Order Contract (JOC) process, utilizing his expertise in account management, project management, scheduling, cost control, cost accounting, and materials procurement to ensure the successful completion of projects. He has a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on projects for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), and several cities including Gilbert, Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson, and Yavapai County.

In his role as CEO, Matt leads Sunland Asphalt with a focus on strategic growth, operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of service. His extensive experience in the industry has positioned him as a key figure in Sunland’s success, and his involvement with industry organizations such as the Arizona General Contractors Association (AGC) and Vistage Worldwide, Inc. allows him to stay connected to the latest trends and best practices in the construction world.
