APEX Motorsports Track Phase II

Maricopa, Arizona

The Phase 2 expansion of the Apex Motor Club in Maricopa, Arizona, involved a highly detailed and technically advanced approach to transform raw desert land into a premier high-performance racetrack. Extensive upfront design and engineering efforts laid the groundwork for a facility built with strength, precision, and durability in mind.

A total of 138,960 cubic yards of material were cut and 121,163 cubic yards of fill placed to shape the building pads, retention basins, racetrack, runoff zones, and paddock areas. Grading was a critical step in ensuring the optimal foundation for all surfaces.

In the track area, an 8-inch layer of Aggregate Base Course (ABC) was installed and meticulously finish graded. This was followed by 2.5 inches of ½” MAG PG 70-10 asphalt, applied to the base course across the paddock, pit lane, and runoff zones. The racetrack itself was capped with 1.5 inches of 3/8” MAG surface course mix using PG 82- 22, delivering the performance surface necessary for high-speed motorsport.

To ensure a seamless and uniform surface, three pavers were operated in an echelon configuration during the paving process. This method delivered a consistent mat from edge to edge, enhancing both ride quality and track longevity. Apex Motor Club isn’t just another racetrack—it’s a destination for driving enthusiasts. Strategically located in Maricopa, it’s easily accessible from Phoenix, Tucson, Los Angeles, and Albuquerque. This world-class circuit was designed for those who live life in the fast lane.

From groundbreaking to the final stretch, every inch of Apex Motor Club’s Phase 2 build was crafted with thrill-seekers, speed lovers, and automotive aficionados in mind.
