FY23-24 Southside Streets Maintenance
Casa Grande, Arizona
The FY23-24 Southside Streets Maintenance project in Casa Grande encompassed a wide range of services, including pulverization, soil stabilization, paving, milling, crack sealing, chip sealing, Type II micro slurry application, utility adjustments, and striping. The project was divided into three phases. Phase 1 involved 13,595 square yards of cement stabilization and the application of 3,820 tons of asphalt. Phase 2 included the installation of 31,650 pounds of crack seal. Phase 3 covered 33,746 square yards of full-width milling, 59,760 square yards of edge milling, 135,448 square yards of chip sealing, and 160,204 square yards of Type II micro slurry seal. Sunland self-performed 60% of the work.
A key highlight was the cape sealing process, which served as a pilot for Casa Grande’s new pavement preservation program. This method—combining chip seal with micro slurry—provided a fresh, newly paved appearance and was well received by the community.
