Tom Darlington Mill and Overlay
Carefree, Arizona
The Town of Carefree – Tom Darlington Mill and Overlay Project consisted of milling the existing roadway surface and overlaying it with new asphalt to improve drivability, safety, and overall pavement longevity. The scope included milling to a specified depth, removing deteriorated asphalt, and replacing it with a fresh layer to restore surface integrity.
This work took place along Tom Darlington Road, spanning from Cave Creek Road to Leisure Lane. Care was taken to coordinate traffic control and minimize disruptions to the community during construction. Upon completion of paving operations, temporary striping was applied, followed by a 30-day curing period. Final thermoplastic striping was then installed to provide long-lasting, high-visibility markings, ensuring safety and compliance with roadway standards.
